ActivVisionTools 1.2 Release Notes

Whenever a tool is generated for the first time (when it is placed on the form) it uses only default values for the parameters and no longer any history of formerly used tools.
When moving a ROI only the results of the corresponding tool are recalculated. The results of the other tools remain as they are.
The property page "Connection" now displays the name of the tool currently edited.
When deleting the last ROI the combo boxes of AVTDataView do not show the previously used tool and ROI anymore.
If you press the mouse button without moving the mouse the tools are not executed anymore.
The selection of tools or ROIs in AVTDataView does not trigger a reexecution of all tools anymore.

Bug Fixes:

Descriptor (DSC) files are now correctly read and written when working with Visual Basic projects.
A bug has been fixed which led to incorrect behavior when ActivFile, ActivSerial, and ActivDecision were used as direct successors of tools which create feature results (e.g. ActivFeatureCalc).
The representation of numbers in DSC files has been improved to allow their exchange between different versions (languages) of the operating system.
The ActivVisionTools work now correctly without a HALCON runtime license.
The problem of storing ROIs in the context of multiple instances of AVTBlobFinder together with multiple instances of AVTFeatureCalc has been fixed.
The status of a tool is now displayed correctly in the property 'Connection'.

Manual:

In the manual 'Getting Started with ActivVisionTools', the description of licensing has been extended. Especially the use of the terms 'license key' and 'license file' has been clarified.
The example Visual Basic projects have been adapted to version 1.2.

ActivView

Functionality:

The lists of parameter values which are proposed for the different frame grabbers have been improved.
When creating a line-shaped ROI, both its start and its end position initially are identical to the position of the first mouse click.
The input of the two text fields of AVTViewCalibration is now also accepted when the focus goes to another component.
AVTViewROI now checks for the maximum allowed number of ROIs, depending on the tool.
When activating the dialog of AVTViewCalibration the corresponding ROI is automatically selected and AVTViewROI switches to this tool.

Bug Fixes:

Switching between units and pixels does not reset the pixel size in AVTViewCalibration anymore.
A bug has been fixed which activated an ROI selection button without user interaction.

Manual:

The User's Manual now contains a new section describing the basics of image acquisition and an appendix with detailed information how to access and parameterize the supported frame grabbers within the ActivVisionTools.
The example Visual Basic projects have been adapted to version 1.2.

ActivZoom

Functionality:

AVTZoom now displays all overlay data like AVTView.

Bug Fixes:

The scaling factor is now stored in the DSC file.

ActivLineProfile

Functionality:

When activating the dialog of AVTLineProfile the corresponding ROI is automatically selected and AVTViewROI switches to this tool.

Bug Fixes:

A bug has been fixed which caused a runtime error when the ROI was moved completetely outside the window.
Very small values for 'Width' no longer cause a runtime error.

ActivGeoCalib

Functionality:

A combo box to select the unit in AVTGeoCalib has been introduced.

Bug Fixes:

After selecting another calibration plate the thickness was not reset correctly. This bug has been fixed.
For the calibration plate 2 now the exact thickness is proposed.
After calibrating the system using AVTGeoCalibration the system ignored the selection of the unit 'Pixel'. This problem has been fixed.
The initial value for the cell size now corresponds to the selected chip size.

Manual:

Now a User's Manual for ActivGeoCalib is included, together with example projects and images.

ActivMeasure

Functionality:

A ROI for ActivMeasure can now be up to 500 pixels wide.
When you open the DataView dialog via the context menu of AVTMeasure the grid is now automatically updated.

Bug Fixes:

AVTMeasureResults now enables check boxes correctly in all contexts.

Manual:

The example Visual Basic projects have been adapted to version 1.2.

ActivBarcode

Functionality:

The colors used to display the results of AVTBarcode now follow the following rules: Regions are displayed with the color of Group I Elements are displayed with the color of Group II
When you open the DataView dialog via the context menu of AVTBarCode1D the grid is now automatically updated.
AVTBarCode1D is not executed without a ROI anymore.
It is now possible to use multiple instances of AVTBarCode1D in combination with AVTBarCode1DParameters.

Bug Fixes:

In the case of incomplete bar codes, wrong parameter values, or wrong ROIs AVTBarCode1D calculated wrong results. This problem has been fixed.

Manual:

The example Visual Basic projects have been adapted to version 1.2.

ActivBlobFinder

Functionality:

It is now possible to use multiple instances of AVTBlobFinder in combination with AVTFeatureCalc.
When you open the DataView dialog via the context menu of AVTBlobFinder the grid is now automatically updated.

Bug Fixes:

The default parameter values for the threshold and the typical size are now consistent with the values of the reset buttons.
A bug has been fixed which caused the return of wrong (old) results if AVTBlobFinder did not find any blobs.
AVTBlobFinder no longer causes a runtime error if a circular ROI becomes too small.

Manual:

The documentation of the special behavior of AVTFeatureCalc (icon in design mode, invisible in user mode) has been clarified.
The example Visual Basic projects have been adapted to version 1.2.

ActivFeatureCalc

Bug Fixes:

Bugs in the calculation of the convex area and the radius of the outer circle have been fixed.
The problem of wrong successors in the property page for AVTFeatureCalc has been fixed.

ActivDataView

Functionality:

ActivDataView now has a context menu (right mouse button on label Unit) which allows to change the unit.
After deleting all ROIs the data grid of AVTDataView is now cleared.

Bug Fixes:

A bug has been fixed which caused a crash when clicking into the grid.
The selected tool and ROI are now stored in the DSC file. Therefore, the tool and the ROI are automatically selected when the application starts again. Likewise, the value selected in the check box 'Update Enabled' is now stored.

ActivDecision

Functionality:

ActivDecision now has a context menu (right mouse button on label Unit) which allows to change the unit

ActivFile

Bug Fixes:

Now all selections in AVTOutputDataSelect are correctly set and saved.

ActivSerial

Bug Fixes:

Now all selections in AVTOutputDataSelect are correctly set and saved.
Some results were output more than once per object. This bug has been fixed.

ActivVisionTools NLS

Functionality:

Additional NLS text has been integrated for ActivView, ActivGeoCalib, ActivBlobFinder, and ActivFile.
An error in the german names for the measurement results has been corrected.
