With ActivOCR, you can interactively build fast and reliable OCR applications for reading text from images. A typical application can be set up simply by specifying a search area (ROI), adjusting some parameters for the extraction of the symbols, and selecting an appropriate "OCR font". ActivOCR already includes many ready-to-use fonts with a practical industrial background, such as dot matrix prints, prints on metal surfaces, pharmacy or document fonts. You need not to train these characters, but simply start their recognition "out-of-the-box".

Moreover, ActivOCR enables you to further improve the reading results by a syntactic and dictionary based auto-correction. If the syntax of the words that must be read is known, or if they must match the entries of a dictionary, you can use the sub-tool AVTWordProcess to check the OCR results by expressions or dictionaries.
