With the help of ActivGeoCalib, you can calibrate your vision system and thereby convert results from pixels into 3D world coordinates. All you need to do is to specify some parameters from the data sheet of your camera and then grab a set of images of a special calibration plate. ActivGeoCalib then calibrates the camera using subpixel precise algorithms. The calibration information is automatically used by other ActivVisionTools to convert their results from pixels into 3D world coordinates.
